Be cool be Glam!

All different but all the same
Be cool be Glam! (Tutto Uguale e Tutto Diverso)

«Be cool be glam»: that was the payoff of Glam Hotel launch campaign.

The message is clear: it's a new, four stars, refined, original and trendy hotel in the centre of Milan (Piazza Duca D’Aosta) with 170 highly characterized rooms.

Materials and comfort are of a very high quality level, such as the marine wood floor. A sky terrace suite at the top floor, 300 m²  large, with a complete 360 degrees view of the fascinating skyline of Milan.

Lots of years ago “GLAMorous” meant, for most people, “lavish”, “glitzy”, something that reminds you an idea of wastefulness. Nowadays, austerity has a role even in glamour and the emerging concepts are "sustainability", "eco-friendship",  and "land consumption". So, today, being "cool” means matching “glamorous” with  “sustainable”.

The Glam Hotel is the symbol of this combination:

«Deconstruction building» meticulously planned with techniques for controlled demolition, extensive material recovery and/or recycling;

«Replacing building» to avoid waste of land and to blend into the environment. "Transcription of the current building into a graceful, modern and charming version" (The Landscape Commission of the city of Milan);

Structural, acoustic and energy «requalification»: new anti-seismic structures, nearly zero energy building, almost complete soundproofing from the outside world;

High standard materials, technologies and facilities;

The most qualified Architects and Interior Designers in the sector;

Everything done with almost no storing space on site, in a very short time (in order to be ready for EXPO 2015) and  with a particular attention to avoid interferences with everyday’s life in the city.

That’s the scenario where StercheleGroup®  was called in, to work in record time, for the Design and Supply of 168 lightweight Bathroom Pods, for a total of 21 different models fitted out with high quality coatings, sanitary ware and brassware,  featuring a great stylish interior design value.

Because of logistical limitations, Bathroom Pods were placed directly in the final position from the truck, in perfect synchronization with the construction programme and with zero impact on the city traffic.

In summary: the payoff "Be cool be Glam" might have been associated with  "the same" in the last 50 years but today it is associated with "different", word that now constitutes the driver of our future development.
