STERCHELEGROUP PREFABRICATED BATHROOMS FOR THE MORELLO II RESIDENTIAL TOWERS IN LONDON

Monday, 9 May, 2022

StercheleGroup was chosen as a partner for the supply of prefabricated bathroom pods for the Morello II residential development plan in Croydon, designed and built with a circular economy approach.

The Morello project is a £350m regeneration project which has already delivered 340 new homes close to East Croydon station. In the second (current) phase, begun in September 2020, it will provide a further 456 residential units across three separate buildings.

The Morello Estate, which consists of two 25-storey towers, will be home to 338 residential apartments, whilst the adjacent Cherry Orchard Gardens, a nine-storey building, will provide 118 units for shared ownership and social rent.

The development also includes 18,000 sq ft of retail and commercial floor space, new public spaces and a new link bridge to East Croydon train station.

The construction work has been entrusted to Sir Robert Mc Alpine, who is guaranteeing a 78% responsible procurement of the key building materials with the aim to reach 90% in the next 4 months, also maintaining the committment to 98% of the construction waste materials diverted from landfill.

The off-site prefabrication of elements such as panels, windows and bathroom pods is helping to ensure the reduction of packaging waste on site.

The delivery of the 530 StercheleGroup bathroom units for the two 25-storey residential towers is proceeding according to the site work schedule.
