Pizzarotti, Astaldi, Techint and StercheleGroup Bathroom Pods for the 4 New Tuscan Hospitals

On January 15th, by the opening of the New Hospital of Apuane (NOA), ended the project of the Tuscany Region that led to the creation of four new hospitals in Italy: Prato, Pistoia, Lucca and Massa-Carrara.

These new health centers, built through a “project financing” system, have been designed according to the most advanced hospital building criteria, with the highest quality materials and advanced technical solutions, organized in a compact, flexible, innovative and fully computerized structure.

StercheleGroup designed and produced 1,325 prefabricated bathroom pods for Prato, Massa and Lucca hospitals for a total of 46 different typologies, respecting site and delivery time schedules and design and technical requirements, within a strict and complex regulatory framework.

The new hospital is composed by four floors plus a basement and covers a total area of 105,750 square meters of which 25,500 for parking area, and provides 360 beds, 12 short-stay observation beds, 30 dialysis beds, 12 surgical rooms, 4 labor rooms and 3 delivery rooms.

Even in this project, the design and production flexibility of StercheleGroup has successfully solved a number of specific requirements and issues for this giant construction site.
